The base cards themselves are gorgeous, but the parallel matrix is where collectors usually dig in. Retail boxes came with significantly fewer cards than hobby, so hobby is the smarter play if you're chasing specific parallels. What pulls most eyes are the Color Blast parallels, which feature vibrant background treatments on the transparent stock and feel genuinely premium. There's also Neon Ink parallels that use contrasting ink colors. Autograph parallels exist but are harder to locate and vary in rarity depending on the player. The rookie class parallels, particularly Color Blast versions of Banchero and Smith, hold value well because the design really elevates the photo and the parallel scarcity keeps supply tight. Hobby boxes are more forgiving for parallel hunting, but expect to spend more per box. Retail packs have worse odds for numbered parallels, so it's really a singles market for anything specific. This product works best if you're targeting specific players or rookies rather than ripping boxes hoping for hits. The parallels are collectible and have held value better than standard Donruss, but you're paying a premium for that acetate stock. If you like the aesthetic and want strong rookie cards of that 2022 class, buy singles of the parallels you want.
